Announcing the release of xnPOS version 4.0 including new industry standard workflows and a new refreshed user interface
The xnPOS team is delighted to announce the release of xnPOS version 4.0 ( “xnPOS 4”). The release introduces a new version numbering convention and is the successor release to version 32.0 (released in January 2023). xnPOS V4 contains many new features and functions to enhance your xnPOS system, with key highlights detailed below:
- New refreshed User Interface
xnPOS 4 has a new modern look and feel for the workstation which makes it more consistent with the UI used on xnPOS Mobile handheld devices.
- New opening Table modes
xnPOS 4 includes long established industry standard ways to open tables, to help new hires, with previous industry experience, get started with xnPOS more rapidly and with less training – Begin by Table, Begin by Fast Tab, Pick Up Table and Pick up by List
- My Check View
xnPOS 4 has added a MyCheck view , enabling the server to see only their own checks. This in in addition to the existing Standard View and Active Check View.
- Training Mode by User
xnPOS 4 now has the ability to assign Training Mode to Users. When a new employee has joined the company, he/she can be set to Training mode. Every time the server logs on, the workstation will go into training mode and go back to Live mode on Log Out.
- Hold & Fire Mode
The Hold & Fire Mode has been improved to enable the server to send all orders to the kitchen or only partial order.
- New portal log-in screen
The new portal log-in screen provides useful product related information to help your team fully utilize your powerful xnPOS system. The portal will give quick access to key xnPOS product documentation and be regularly updated with features such as Frequently Asked Questions.
- xnPOS GO Tips & Alerts
xnPOS GO alert orders can now be printed to a network printer, and the Tips prompt has been improved to ensure clients do not miss the opportunity to reward servers.

- What do I have to do to get the xnPOS 4 upgrade?
- You do not have to do anything to order the xnPOS 4 upgrade.
- We will be upgrading your xnPOS enterprise cloud portal on Tuesday 16 May and will be in contact with you in the near future, to advise you of the upgrade date for your POS systems to xnPOS 4.
- We will also be sending you a copy of the detailed xnPOS 4 release notes, by separate email. A copy of the xnPOS 4 release notes can also be downloaded from the xnPOS website at xnPOS 4 Release notes
- How does my property activate & enable the new xnPOS 4 functionality?
- We work hard to maintain the same workflows between versions, in order to reduce staff training time and therefore certain features are intended to be activated with your agreement, after the upgrade.
Much of the new functionality will be automatically activated and available as soon as your xnPOS system is upgraded. However, certain features will need to be activated by our team including :-
- Active / My Checks Table View
- Allow Multiple Check per Table (Non US Site)
- Automatic Closing of abandoned xnPOS GO order (recommended)
- Training Mode by Operator
- KDS -Additional items on existing order on new window

- How will my team know how to use the new functionality in xnPOS 4 ?
- We have developed a number of “quick start” user guides which show the key differences between your existing system and xnPOS 4 . The quick start user guides can be downloaded from our website at xnPOS 4 quick start guides
- In addition we will be running a series of training webinars to enable your staff members to get fully familiar with the new features and functionality. We will be in contact shortly to advise you of the dates on which the webinars will be held.
